Destination Wedding - Barbados New Year's Day Elopement

I got to shoot a few amazing elopements while visiting Barbados, where I am from, all the way for Saint John New Brunswick for Christmas. Visiting my family and spending time on the beach daily was the highlight of my trip but this was up there on those special moments.

Jenny and Till visited all the way from Germany and said I DO on the beautiful south coast beach.

This beautiful set up was created by Elope Barbados.

I can hear the laughs and the sounds of the waves still as I look back on these images.

8 tips for how to keep your wedding guests happy!

You are just planning your big day but you are also feeling the burden of entertaining your guests. While some of these options may not be something you have the ability to do, they are just ideas for each couple to keep in mind when giving a happy guest experience. At the end of the day, it’s really about you two but we also want everyone to feel like they are a huge part of this auspicious occasion.

Mollie and MacKenzie's Grand Manan wedding

Mollie and Mackenzie had booked their wedding in Rothesay New Brunswick Canada initially however they came back to the place that they also called home. The beautiful Grand Manan island was the perfect spot where they could bring all their family and friends together.

The night before Hurricane Elsa paid us a visit but she left just in time for the sun the shine light on this special day.

If you aren’t familiar with this island in New Brunswick, I highly recommend you take your family for a weekend visit perhaps! It has the most stunning views and very little wifi! Just what we need during these times right?

Jess & Bryan's Farm Vow Renewal

Jess and Bryan have been married 8 years and in that time they created a marriage of strength along with three beautiful children.

Rebecca and Andrew's St.Martins Elopement

Rebecca and Andrew’s day was nothing short of beautiful, intimate and everything they imagined. They eloped in the beautiful St.Martins New Brusnwick overlooking the water. Just family and their two dogs was all they needed. I asked Rebecca a few questions about their love story.

How did your love story begin?

We met in queen square Jan 2019 when my dog Moses was just 7 weeks old. I was cheering him on for peeing outside when Andrew and his dog Leo walked by. We remembered meeting each other before at a party in the summer but we both were in a relationship. Luckily we happened to both be single when we met again.

How did he propose?

Andrew proposed at our favorite walking trail Sheldons point with a view of the ocean on February 14th, 2020.

Why did you choose to elope?

We chose to elope because we didn’t want to have to wait for Covid to end and I also wanted a small intimate wedding.

Describe what planning your wedding was like during a pandemic?

During the pandemic planning was quite easy. You and More were very accommodating and available to chat often. Lancaster Florists and pink icing were available and accommodating. I found you and More through Instagram and admired your work. We planned our wedding 2 months before hand. I rented duckpond cottage through Air BNB for a little vacation and then realized it would be a great little spot to also get married. We were in yellow phase thinking our siblings could also attend but we didn’t tell them in fear of going into orange or red. So no one knew except our parents. We told our siblings at a surprise zoom party a couple of nights later. My friends found out through social media. It was a great surprise. Everyone is very happy for us and understand our decision during the pandemic.

The arbor the built by Andrew and his dad a week before. Lancaster Florists stayed in touch with me and helped me pick out flowers for the arbor. I was really amazed at how beautiful it turned out. Andrew's cousin married us.

Was your wedding day everything you imagined?

Our wedding was more than I imagined. My day started with More and she is the sweetest person and so talented. My mom helped me with my dress and drove me to the ceremony. I loved how happy our parents looked. Despite the pandemic, everything was easy-going, romantic, outdoors, cozy, rustic, and inexpensive. The weather cooperated and made for a beautiful outdoor setting. It was legit a winter wonderland. Our parents finally got to meet. The makeup, hair, and photography blew me away. You guys helped make my wedding day so special and I love looking back on it.
